I have a problem.

My wife just recently passed her real estate test and has become a realtor. She was planning on having a big sale waiting for her when she started, but that one seems to maybe have gone away. Now she is dejected and is thinking about quiting. If you don't know real estate, you pay them to work for them, so if you dont' sell anything its not a matter of just not making anything you are actually loosing about 1500 per month.

I want to be supportive. So when she says things like ' I want to quit' I say its up to you and it fine either way. But I want to support her and I want her to suceed and not look back on quitting as a mistake. But she doubts herself then what is the chance of sucess?

She just needs to get use to ups and downs that every profession has. Well her first mistake was banking on one big "Thing." In this case that thing is a sale. With no fallback, of course it's going to be crappy to lose that big sale. But that's the thing, the more hope you put into one thing alone, the more it's going to hurt if you don't get it.

And giving up after just one (the first) failure is silly. You guys didn't give up after your first child did you? You're in the odd position of: if you don't push her enough she won't find that confidence she needs. Push too much and it'll look like you're forcing her to go out and make a living. Hmm... sucks for you! :P
